Chief Mrs. Olayinka Mutiat, the former First Lady of Oyo State, has expressed deep shock and profound sadness over the sudden passing of Alhaji Rasheed Azeez, popularly known as “Ege,” who transitioned last Sunday.
In a condolence statement issued on Monday, Chief Mrs. Olayinka described the demise of Alhaji Azeez as an unexpected blow and a deeply personal loss, noting that his absence will leave a massive void in the lives of those who knew him, Particularly in the Iderade Political Group where he was an active member
Reflecting on the character of the deceased, she paid a glowing tribute to his constancy to his principles and his steadfast nature.
“Alhaji Rasheed Azeez was a remarkably loyal person who held firmly to whatever he believed in,” she remarked. “He was a man of conviction, dependable in all seasons, and his loyalty was never in doubt. His passing is not just a loss to his immediate circle, but a deeply personal loss to me.”
She further emphasized that “Ege” would be sorely missed for his dedication, his vibrant personality, and his distinct contributions to his community.
Alhaji Azeez is survived by his wife and children. Chief Mrs. Olayinka extended her heartfelt prayers to the grieving family, asking that Almighty Allah grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grant the departed soul eternal rest. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
