A chairmanship aspirant for Ibadan North West Local Government, Hon. Kamal Ganiyu (GreatKamal), has formally declared his intention to contest for the council’s top seat, calling for support, prayers, and unity among party leaders, stakeholders, and residents of the local government.
The declaration, which took place at his ward, APM Ward 2 in Ibadan North West Local Government, attracted party faithful, community leaders, elders, women, youths, and political stakeholders who gathered to witness the official unveiling of his ambition.
Speaking during the event, GreatKamal paid glowing tributes to leaders and stakeholders who have contributed to the growth and stability of the local government, acknowledging their sacrifices and commitment to good governance.
He specifically appreciated notable leaders within the political structure, including Dr. Remi Ayodele, Alhaji Rahman Adepoju, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Alhaji Ishola Labule, Alhaji Lukman Adesina, Hon. Kazeem Fantola and other party elders for providing quality leadership and sustaining the progressive ideals of the council.
The aspirant emphasized the need for continuity in governance, noting that successive administrations in Ibadan North West have laid a solid foundation that should not be abandoned.
According to him, his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to contribute to the development of the local government and continue the good works of the current leadership.
GreatKamal stressed that politics should not be viewed as a “do-or-die” affair, saying leadership positions are ultimately determined by God and should be pursued with humility, respect, and service to the people.
He disclosed that after extensive consultations with party elders and stakeholders, he decided to join the race to further strengthen the developmental strides already being witnessed across the local government.
“I have come to seek your support, prayers, and understanding. I am not here to buy anyone’s mandate. I do not have the resources to purchase support, but I believe in the love, trust, and confidence that the people have in me,” he said.
The chairmanship hopeful added that every qualified citizen has a constitutional right to aspire to public office and pledged to remain committed to serving the interests of all residents if elected.
He assured the people of Ibadan North West that his administration would prioritize inclusiveness, community development, and the welfare of residents while building on the achievements of previous administrations.
Hon. Kamal Ganiyu concluded by appealing to party faithfuls, executive officers, women and youths of the ward to rally behind his aspiration for the collective progress of Ibadan North West.
