The Deputy Governor of Oyo State Barrister Bayo Lawal has extended warm birthday felicitations to former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsuratu Sunmonu, in recognition of her remarkable contributions to governance and public service.
In a congratulatory message, the Deputy Governor described Senator Sunmonu as a distinguished leader, a trailblazer, and an inspiration to women in politics, noting her historic emergence as the first female Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He commended her dedication, integrity, and commitment to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria at large, both during her tenure in the State Assembly and in her subsequent role as a Senator of the Federal Republic.
“Your legacy of purposeful leadership, courage, and service continues to resonate across Oyo State and beyond. You have remained a shining example of what women can achieve in positions of authority,” the statement read.
The Deputy Governor further prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service in her life.
He wished Senator Sunmonu a joyous birthday celebration and reaffirmed the state government’s appreciation of her enduring contributions to the growth and progress of Oyo State.
