The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States His Eminence, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola De-Damak has strongly condemned the recent abduction of students and the killing of staff members at Ahoro Esinele, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the incident as heartbreaking, inhumane, and a serious threat to the safety of lives and the future of education in the country.

In a statement issued through his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, the Aare Musulumi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic development and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased staff members, the management of the school, and the affected community.

He described the attack as an unfortunate reminder of the growing insecurity confronting communities and educational institutions across Nigeria, stressing that schools should remain safe spaces for learning and development, not centres of fear and violence.

The Islamic leader emphasized that Islam strongly condemns all forms of violence, unlawful killings, abductions, and attacks on innocent people, noting that such wicked acts are against the teachings and principles of Islam.

Aare Musulumi stated that no religion that truly promotes peace and humanity supports the shedding of innocent blood or the terrorizing of communities.

He called on the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Government, security agencies, and relevant authorities to immediately intensify efforts toward rescuing the abducted students and ensuring that the perpetrators of the heinous act are swiftly brought to justice.

He further urged government at all levels to strengthen security architecture around schools and vulnerable communities, while also improving intelligence gathering and rapid response mechanisms to prevent future occurrences.

The Aare Musulumi maintained that attacks on innocent students and educators amount to attacks on the future of the nation and warned against the continued normalization of insecurity and violence across communities.

He also appealed to residents to remain united, vigilant, and supportive of security efforts while praying for the safe return of the abducted students.

His Eminence prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased staff members and asked Almighty Allah to comfort their families and grant the abducted students safe and speedy return.
