The Office of the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters has strongly debunked misleading social media reports alleging the presence of suspected gunmen or bandits along the Iseyin-Ogbomoso axis, specifically around the Adebayo Alao Akala Highway.
The public is officially advised that these reports are entirely and should be completely disregarded.

The convoy erroneously identified in the viral reports actually comprised high-ranking security operatives. The delegation was led by the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, alongside the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Mr. Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, and the Inspector General of Police..

The officials were conducting an essential security visit to the Yawota and Elesinle communities. This visit was part of a series of ongoing, coordinated security interventions and direct engagements with local communities following recent security developments in the area.

Authorities assure residents that rescue efforts remain highly active in the region.

Security agencies are fully committed to ensuring the safe return of victims and sustaining strategic operations to guarantee long-term peace.

The Oyo State Government, in close collaboration with security agencies, reiterates its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

Residents are urged to refrain from spreading unverified information that can trigger unnecessary panic, fear, or disorder. Please rely exclusively on official updates from relevant authorities and continue to support security personnel with credible information.
