The Deputy Governor of Oyo State has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Alhaja Tawakalitu Shiyanbad, wife of the Secretary General of the Muslim Community of Oyo State, Alhaji Murzik Shiyanbade.
Alhaja Shiyanbade reportedly returned to her Creator in the early hours of Thursday morning at the age of 66.
In a formal statement released from his office, the Deputy Governor described the deceased as a “pillar of virtue” and a “devout mother” whose life was defined by her faith and commitment to the service of Allah and humanity.
The statement highlighted her role as a supportive partner to Alhaji Murzik Shiyanbade, noting that her quiet strength was instrumental in the Secretary General’s many contributions to the religious harmony and growth of the Muslim Ummah in the state.
“The news of the transition of Alhaja Tawakalitu Shiyanbade is a painful one,” the Deputy Governor stated. “At 66, she had much more to offer in wisdom and guidance, but we submit to the ultimate will of Almighty Allah. She was a woman of exemplary character who managed her home and her community responsibilities with equal grace.”
The Deputy Governor further extended his condolences to the Shiyanbade family and the entire Muslim Community of Oyo State, urging them to find strength in the pious life she led.
The Deputy Governor offered prayers for the repose of her soul, stating:
“May Allah (SWT) in His infinite mercy overlook her earthly shortcomings, admit her into Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant Alhaji Murzik and the children the fortitude to navigate this difficult period.”
Alhaja Tawakalitu Shiyanbade has been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites after a janazah prayer at Bodija Estate Islamic Centre.
