According to a prominent phenomenal grassroots advocate, PDP Youth Stakeholder and public affairs commentator, Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan Eldreez, popularly known as IJOBA AUTHORITY MOE, has commended the strategic leadership driving Agribusiness development in Oyo State, noting that the sector’s rapid growth is significantly contributing to the state’s improved Value Added Tax (VAT) performance and economic expansion.
MOE particularly applauded Dr. Debo Akande, DBA, CMGR, FCMI
The Phenomenal Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness and International Cooperation & Development, Director-General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), for translating the economic vision of Governor Seyi Makinde into practical and sustainable development initiatives that continue to reposition Oyo State as a leading Agribusiness hub in Nigeria.
According to him, the Makinde administration has deliberately prioritized Agribusiness as a major driver of economic prosperity. Through initiatives such as the Oluyole Free Trade Zone and the development of Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ), the state is opening new frontiers for investment, job creation and Agricultural productivity.
MOE highlighted the significance of the agro-industrial hubs at Fasola in Oyo, Eruwa, and Ijaiye in Atan Village, Akinyele Local Government, describing them as transformative projects that are attracting investors, strengthening value chains and positioning the state as a center of agro-processing and food security.
He stressed that the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub, alongside other SAPZ initiatives, is already creating opportunities for farmers, agro-entrepreneurs and investors by providing an enabling environment where Agricultural production can seamlessly connect to markets and industrial processing.
“Beyond the regular payment of salaries, pensions, gratuities and workers’ allowances by the Oyo State Government, the real economic expansion lies in empowering farmers and Agribusiness stakeholders,” MOE noted.
He further explained that improved road networks, better rural infrastructure and a supportive policy environment have made it easier for farmers and produce merchants to transport food items to markets without the usual stress associated with poor logistics and bad roads.
MOE concluded that the synergy between OYSADA’s leadership and Governor Makinde’s policy direction is gradually transforming Oyo State into a model of Agribusiness-driven development, strengthening internally generated revenue while creating sustainable opportunities for citizens across the state.
