The Phenomenal Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness and International Cooperation and development, Dr. Debo Akande, has reaffirmed that Oyo State is steadily advancing toward economic prosperity through a deliberate and well-structured agribusiness revolution.
According to Dr. Akande, the remarkable transformation within the agricultural sector is a direct result of Governor Makinde’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to repositioning agriculture as a viable engine of economic growth. He emphasized that under the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), the state has moved Agriculture from subsistence practice to a modern, investment-driven ecosystem.
He noted that strategic initiatives such as infrastructure development in agribusiness hubs, investor-friendly policies, mechanization support, and strong partnerships with private sector players have significantly boosted productivity and created sustainable jobs for youths and rural communities.
Dr. Akande stressed that the Makinde-led administration understands that true economic prosperity must be built on productivity. By strengthening value chains, improving access to markets, and attracting both local and international investors, Oyo State is now positioned as one of Nigeria’s leading agribusiness destinations.
“Oyo is not just farming; we are building a complete agribusiness ecosystem that guarantees wealth creation, food security, and inclusive economic growth,” he declared.
He concluded by affirming that the successes recorded so far are products of Governor Makinde’s clear vision to move Oyo from potential to productivity, and ultimately, to prosperity.
