President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending the security challenges plaguing Nigeria, vowing to “bring insecurity to its knees” to ensure national stability.
While declaring open the 2026 National Economic Council (NEC) Conference in Abuja, the President emphasized that the time for decisive action is now. He noted that the persistent menace of insecurity has acted as a primary clog in the wheel of Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
“With determination and resilience, we will nip this problem in the bud,” the President stated. “In doing so, we clear the path for a stronger, more secure, and more prosperous nation where every Nigerian can thrive.”
Speaking on the conference theme, “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” President Tinubu took a moment to commend the Nigerian people. He expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by citizens during the country’s current transition, assuring them that their endurance would yield tangible results.
The President further defended his administration’s ongoing policy reforms, asserting that these “difficult but necessary” shifts are designed to usher in an era of abundance.
“Our reforms are aimed at one goal: a better life for all and sundry,” Tinubu said. “We are building a foundation that will ensure our national development is not just sustainable, but inclusive of every Nigerian.”
