The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the members and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Atisbo Local Government Area following the death of Makanjuola Ayoola, popularly known as Makinson.
He passed away in the early hours of Friday.
Makinson was the Odofin of Ago-Are Land until his death, a former Chairman of Atisbo Local Government Area, and a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports.”
In a message released on Saturday, the Deputy Governor characterized Makinson’s death as a profound loss for Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, and the political landscape of Atisbo Local Government.
He highlighted Makinson’s role as a community leader and a shrewd politician, distinguished by his exceptional integrity, humility, and steadfast commitment to public service.
The Deputy Governor further noted that Makinson’s leadership, extensive experience, and dedication to the advancement of Ago-Are, Atisbo Local Government, Oke-Ogun, and Oyo State earned him widespread respect and admiration across political and social lines.
The statement read, “It was deeply saddening and shocking to learn of the passing of Hon. Makanjuola Ayoola, also known as Makinson. He was a skilled politician and a grassroots mobiliser who truly understood his craft during his lifetime.
“His death is particularly poignant at a time when his invaluable experience in politics and public service, coupled with his traditional role as the Ododfin of Ago Are land, would have been instrumental in advancing political and community development in our pace-setting state. His demise represents a significant loss not only to the PDP but to the entire Atisbo Local Government Area and grassroots politicians throughout the state.”
