The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, embarked on a tour of several wards in Irepo Local Government on Wednesday.
The visit served as a gesture of appreciation for their support of Governor Seyi Makinde over the past two and a half years and a Yuletide greeting.
Accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Ajibola Lawal, the Deputy Governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to the development of Kishi and Oyo State during the hours-long tour.
He highlighted the approval and imminent commencement of the Kishi-Igboho road project, with contractors already mobilizing equipment.
The Deputy Governor also inspected ongoing projects within Irepo Local Government, including the new fire service station site along Kishi Old Igboho Road, Adasobo Grammar School, and Iba High School.
He emphasized the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the interests of the people.
During his visit to some areas, Barr. Lawal expressed his gratitude for their support, noting his tradition of visiting his country home during New Year celebrations.
He mentioned the ongoing construction of the Kishi-Igboho road, with equipment already visible, and reiterated the administration’s commitment to Kishi’s development.
He also emphasized the administration’s focus on youth employment, pledging to continue his efforts.
The Deputy Governor however clarified that the visit was not for campaigning, but to show continued support for Kishi’s development.
The tour included a visit to Mapo Baptist Church, where the congregation expressed their continued support for the government and appreciation for recent job opportunities for church members.
