The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has congratulated the Executive Governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the occasion of his 58th birthday, describing him as a humanist and an exemplary leader with profound capacity for public governance.
In a goodwill message released on Thursday to mark the Governor’s birthday celebration on December 25, 2025, Lawal said the day was a gratifying moment for him and his family to celebrate the uniqueness of Governor Makinde, whose leadership style he said has continued to redefine governance in Oyo State.

The Deputy Governor noted that Governor Makinde’s administration is a study in digital capacity, marked by deep knowledge, compassion, vision and purposive leadership, which has translated into tangible development across critical sectors of the state.
According to him, the Governor’s leadership has remained firmly anchored on growth and sustainable development, with notable strides in education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, agriculture and agrobusiness, as well as the welfare of civil and public servants.

Lawal further expressed appreciation for the trust and confidence reposed in him by the Governor, describing his working relationship with Makinde as that of a dependable ally and co-pilot.
“I feel good working with Your Excellency as Deputy, an ally and indeed a co-pilot. Through your demonstrable conduct, you have continued to repose absolute confidence in me, even yielding ground on several occasions for me to act as Executive Governor of Oyo State,” he said.

The Deputy Governor described Governor Makinde as a humanist whose people-centred approach to governance has endeared him to the citizens of the state.
He concluded by praying for more years of good health and strength for the Governor and his family, while wishing him a happy 58th birthday.

“On this special occasion, I wish Your Excellency a happy 58th birthday and pray for more birthdays in good health for you, your wife and children, Lawal stated.
