He affirmed Ewhrudjakpo’s integrity, political consistency, and generous spirit, as exemplified when he hosted him in Bayelsa State not too long ago, noting that he was deeply loved by his people and widely respected across the country.
Lawal praised the late Deputy Governor’s distinguished political journey from serving as Senator representing Bayelsa West, to Commissioner for Works, and ultimately, as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. He described him as a “principled and consistent politician” who upheld his convictions throughout his career.“Bayelsa State and the entire political family have lost a gem whose contributions to governance and development were significant and enduring,” he added.
The Oyo Deputy Governor conveyed his sympathies to Governor Douye Diri, the Ewhrudjakpo family, and the people of Bayelsa State as they observe a three-day state mourning period. He prayed for divine strength and comfort for all who are grieving.
