In a major boost to digital education, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology, and Cybersecurity, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), has facilitated the establishment of a state-of-the-art digital e-learning centre at People’s Girls Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan.
As part of his constituency intervention initiative, the project aims to equip students with essential digital skills, ensuring they remain competitive in today’s technology-driven world.
Founded in 1944 by the late Iyalode of Ibadan, Chief Wuraola Adepeju Esan, the all-girls school has produced many successful women in various fields. This initiative is set to further enhance academic excellence by integrating technological innovation into learning.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, Hon. Olajide reaffirmed his commitment to promoting ICT education within his constituency.
“The world is moving at a fast pace, and technology is at the heart of everything. Our students must not be left behind,” he said.
Hon. Olajide, a PDP lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, emphasized that the digital centre would bridge the digital divide and position students to compete favorably in an era of rapid technological advancement.
“This facility will provide students with the tools they need to acquire digital literacy, coding skills, and other ICT-related knowledge that will prepare them for future opportunities,” he added.
