Yuletide: Ido LG Boss, Sheriff Adeojo Beefs Up Security Presents 5 Motorcycles To Security Agencies

 

 

 

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Honourable Sheriff Adeojo on Tuesday hosted conventional and non conventional security agencies in the local government to a security meeting as part of measures to ensure a crime free yuletide as Christmas approaches assuring that security will be beefed up in Ido local government to ensure a crime free yuletide.

The Council boss who presented five brand new motorcycles and financial support to security agencies from both the conventional and non-conventional outfits said his administration will continue to prioritize security of lives and properties of Ido residents above all other priorities.

Adeojo gave this assurance in Ibadan on Tuesday November 31 during the monthly security meeting of the Local Government with both the conventional and non-conventional security agencies.

The Chairman during the meeting assured indigenes and residents of the Council Area of adequate security of lives and properties during and after ember months.

According to the Council boss, his administration will continue to support Officers of state security agencies and local security groups with working logistics and tools as well as financial support.

“It is a known fact that every December is a period of increased inflow of persons into the state and local government area which also leads to increase in vehicular movements.

“Many who have been away from home or their loved ones usually use this period of yuletide to reunite and most times to celebrate the Christmas festival. So as part of being proactive in our security measures, we are not going to leave any stone unturned to ensure that there’s adequate security of lives and properties of everyone in the local government.

“We want to urge all residents in Ido local government to cooperate with the security agencies as they beef up security to provide safety for our lives and properties especially during this period many people will be returning home for Christmas because we do not know who is who.

“The Executive Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and the Security Chiefs in Oyo have created a safe environment for us which was why we could peacefully live our lives and go about lawful businesses all year round and it is imperative that we sustain that level of security during this yuletide season.

“I want to personally implore you all that if you see something, please say something. Do not aide and albeit crime on grounds of affinity with any unscrupulous or criminal elements in your area and community. Help us to serve you better as we remain committed to our promises.” Adeojo said.

Commending the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Apete Police Division on effective traffic control around Apete market, Adeojo noted that the effectiveness of the traffic control in the area has brought about free flow of human and vehicular traffic bringing ease of commercial activities to Apete area.

The conventional security agency who received from the 5 brand new motorcycles and cash support include the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Kuola, Ologuneru, Apete.

The non-conventional security outfits include Agbekoya and Happy Vigilante Group of Nigeria(HVGN) both of Apete Division.

In his brief remarks, Alh. Kola Alabi, the Director of Administration and General Services who commended the Executive Chairman for his approach to governance which was likened to the Seyi Makinde style also disclosed that Christmas/New Year incentives for both state and non-state security agencies have been approved by the Council boss.
