The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority has successfully evacuated the fallen container along Efunsetan Roundabout, Challenge, Ibadan.
This follows the intervention of the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D who took over the removal of the container from the Police who has been investigation the accident for about two weeks.
According to the OYRTMA Boss, “The container, which had been a subject of Police investigations, had been at the scene for about two weeks. It has therefore become extremely necessary for OYRTMA to move in and evacuate it particularly as its presence along the route constitutes significant danger to unsuspecting motorists and other road users.
While we thank God no casualty was recorded throughout the period, we wish to appreciate the general public for showing concern over the matter and keeping in touch with us along the way. The Oyo State Government under His Excellency, Governor Seyi makinde remain committed to safeguarding the lives and properties of all residents of the State especially the motoring public and all road users”, Fagbemi said during the evacuation process of the container.
You may recall that a strong delegation of OYRTMA led by the General Manager, Commander Adekola Adeoye had on Tuesday 28th March 2023 visited the Felele Divisional Police Headquarters to take over the removal of the container from the Police as it constituted huge risk to commuters along the route.
The motoring public is therefore enjoined to go about their normal businesses as normalcy has been returned to the axis.
