Mr Ogunsola made this known when he spoke with our reporter in Ibadan recently, the Chairman noted that the myths as to the negative effect the defection of Senator Ladoja will have on Accord Oyo state is largely exaggerated, He however said the former governor ‘s departure notwithstanding, the party is poised to put up a good performance in the coming elections.
On comments in some quarters that Accord is no longer existing in Oyo state, Mr Ogunsola, said those holding such views don’t know what they are talking about, making reference to the last bye election held in Ibarapa, the Oke Ogun born politician said with the little resources the party had, it was still able to put up an impressive performance, he likened the coming elections as one that will be a battle between David and Goliath, adding that Accord will surprise political pundits.
Ogunsola who is the former executive chairman of Saki East local government, of Oyo state also remarked that the party is not ruling out the possibility of working with another party in some sort of an alliance, ” in fact all arrangements with Labour party has been concluded, all that is left is to go public with it. ” he said.
On why there are very few aspirants seeking to contest, on the platform of the party, Ogunsola said there are quite a number of aspirants hoping to fulfil their political aspirations through the party, according to him three aspirants have not only indicated interest in contesting the guber elections through the party platform, but have also obtained forms and paid required fees. We also have aspirants jostling to seek other political offices through the party, Ogunsola asserted.
