Seyi Makinde Pledges to Pay Oyo Workers On The 27th Or 28th Of  Every Month.

The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in Oyo state Engr. Seyi Makinde has pledged that he will ensure that Oyo state workers salaries are paid on the 27th or 28th of every month. He gave this pledge when he met the leadership of the National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE Oyo state chapter in Ibadan, Friday.

Speaking at the meeting which was well attended by top brass of NULGE, Engr. Makinde noted that workers welfare will be paramount in his administration, he said that of all those seeking to govern the state, non has ran a successful business, hence it will be difficult for them to tell the correlation between workers welfare and productivity.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate also reiterated his support for local government autonomy he said “ I will support Fully the local government autonomy Bill”.
Furthermore, Engr. Makinde noted that under his administration local government will function as it should, he noted that he will not engage in awarding contracts on behalf of local governments in the state, “ Under my watch Local government will function efficiently and Productively.” He also promised to look dispassionately  into the matter of local government employees that were sacked.

Earlier the President of NULGE Comrade Titilola Sodo  in his brief remarks urged the PDP governorship candidate  to look into the possibility of increasing the number of local government employees that can attain the position of a permanent secretary from the present one, to three or more  He also requested that the state ministry of local governments and chieftaincy matters be managed by local government employees as they are the ones who are closer to the grassroot.

The deputy governor of the party Engr Raufu Olaniyan fnse a retired permanent secretary of the Oyo state Civil service, and  Senator Hosiah Agboola former commissioner for local government affairs for 8years. Who also spoke at the meeting urge NULGE members to vote the PDP governorship candidates as their interest will be well protected.

Among dignitaries who accompanied Engr. Seyi Makinde to the meeting included Engr. Raufu Olaniyan Deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Kumi Mustapha PDP state Chairman, Bayo Lawal DG campaign organisation for Seyi Makinde, Dr. Nureni Adeniran former local government chairman south west and former commissioner of Education Oyo state, Sen. Hosiah Agboola and Chief Jacob Adetoro.
