SECURITY: Oyo Police Command Speaks Over Killing Of Ibadan Businessman As Thorough Investigation Begins

The Oyo State Police Command has finally spoken over the killing of Ibadan Businessman by unknown assailants in order to set records straight over different versions of stories going round in some sections of the news media.

The Oyo State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Adewale Osifeso, who spoke with sunrisebulletin via phone call on Sunday 30th of May berated some desperate journalists who in their bid to get ahead in news publication have resorted to making stories without first establishing the fact.

He urged members of the press to endeavor to source for their information from reliable and credible sources before going public with their news noting that the present situation in the country calls for serious caution from all member of the Nigerian state in other not to further heat up the polity.


According to Oyo state Police Spokesman, deep investigations have commenced immediately by the state police command to unravel circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Maduabuchi Owuamanam, who was 51 years as at time of his death.

DSP Osifeso noted that police investigations are not based on sentiments but facts as at the time events occurred therefore, the State Police Command will only be able to make a categorical statement after it is abreasts with all the facts surrounding the death of the deceased Ibadan businessman.

He however, called for calm among residents in the state, stressing that the Police is already making progress with investigations and will get to the root of the matter within reasonable time.

“The unfortunate incident was reported to the Police at about 2210hrs on Saturday 29th May 2021 by the wife of the deceased, one Christianah Owuamanam ‘F’.

“The deceased, Maduabuchi Owuamanam ‘m’ aged 51yrs was allegedly attacked and eventually murdered by unknown assailants around a relaxation spot at Oremeji Mokola area of Ibadan.

“Investigations are in top gear to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and as well apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act, please,” DSP Osifeso said.
