Executives and Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Afijio a Local Government in Oyo central Senatorial zone, of Oyo State, has assured the senatorial candidate of the party of victory in the coming elections.
The assurance was given yesterday at a meeting held in Afjio by the stakeholders with Oyebisi Ilaka, the party’s candidate.
The Chairman of PDP, Hon. Aderinola Adedeji while speaking at the meeting described Oyebisi Ilaka as a patriot and rare philanthropist whose generosity has positively affected the lives of several people not only in Afijio, but through out the local governments comprising Oyo central Senatorial zone.
Speaking further, the chairman noted that, this is the first meeting the party executives will be having with Ilaka, since it’s inauguration, He however assured the party’s senatorial candidate, on behalf the party executives and all stakeholders that, every necessary machinery will be deployed to ensure Oyebisi Ilaka emerges victorious at the senatorial elections.
In his remarks, Chief Bisi Ilaka, appreciated the stakeholders for honouring the invitation despite the short notice. He urged them to come up with a framework to guide the campaign movement in Afijio local government, stressing that Afijio is a special in Oyo Federal Constituency that has its own terrain with different communities, but at the end, they speak with one voice. He suggested that early visitation by the campaign team to the needed areas will be appreciated.
All who spoke at the meeting extolled the virtues of Ilaka while praying for his success at the polls, hoped that he will remember Afijio local government, once he wins the elections.
Those present at the meeting included chief Ogunlade, Mr Oyedeji who represented Ambassador Makinde Akinlabi, Hon Sakiru Ojo, Wole Akanbi and several other political leaders in Afijio.
