OYRTMA Partners NGO To Provide Protective Kits To Oyo Commercial Motorcyclists In A Drive To Enforce Road Usage Compliance
In line with Oyo state government directive through the Oyo state road transport management agency (OYRTMA) under the leadership of the agency’s chairman, Dr Akin Fagbemi towards its drive of one passenger per motor bike, a non governmental organization has donated special protective kits for commercial motorcycle riders popularly called “Okada”operators in the state.
The special protective covering was distributed to no fewer than 1000 commercial motorcycle operators today at the headquarters of the Oyo state road and transport management authority (OYRTMA), state secretariat.
Report has it that the charity outreach tagged brother’s keeper initiative was to complement Oyo state governments’ efforts in reducing instances of commercial motorcycle riders accidents leading to avoidable accidents and physical damage in the state.
Dr Fagbemi however assured that the agency will not relent in continually engaging all stakeholders in the business across the state in order to restore orderliness and strict compliance among operators adding that the continued rise in the number of deaths and casualties emanating from reckless riding was totally unacceptable.
