Oyo Police Nabs, Parades 36yr Old Banker Who Defrauded Customer Of N10m

The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko, has said that the state Police Command in its strategic fight against crime and criminality in the state has recorded another remarkable success by apprehending 36 year old Tosin Adewale for defrauding a customer of the same bank the sum of N10 million (ten million naira).

Recall that the Oyo State Police Command last month apprehended and paraded abductors and killer of Akinyele Community Youth Leader alongside other hoodlums and cultists and recovering dangerous weapons, cash, and other fetish items.

The state Police Command also paraded abductors of the wife of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state after rescuing her from her kidnappers and recovering her valuables from the suspected criminals.

The Commissioner of Police in the new development disclosed on Tuesday August 17 in a signed press release by the State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) DSP Adewale Osifeso, and made available to Sunrisebulletin.com that Oyo State Police Command will continue to deploy it’s resources to rid the state of unscrupulous and criminal elements.

The suspected banker cum marketer who is now in police custody according to the police statement works with one of the new generation banks.

According to the police statement 78 year old Oladele Adida Quadri, male, with bank account domiciled at the Challenge Branch of the Bank was defrauded by the suspect between 12th-13th of August, 2021.

The suspect has however been paraded by the Oyo State Police Command at the State Force Headquarters, Eleyele in Ibadan.

The Police statement stated further that Police Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s dilemma began on the 12th July, 2021 after his ATM card got trapped at the bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) after a failed transaction at the Challenge, Ibadan branch and the suspect was subsequently approached for assistance at the Banking Hall.

The Police Statement reads: “In a conscious effort to rid Oyo State off unscrupulous and sinister minded elements, Oyo State Police Command in an intelligence-led and purposeful driven operation under the constructive leadership of CP Ngozi Onadeko, fdc has apprehended one Adeyemi Tosin ‘m’ age 36yrs, a Banker/Marketer with a First Generation bank who surreptitiously siphoned ten million naira (#10,000,000) from the account of one Oladele Adida Quadri ‘m’ age 78yrs with bank account domiciled at the Challenge Branch of the Bank between 12th-13th of August, 2021.

“Preliminary enquiry reveals that the victim’s dilemma began on the 12th July, 2021 after his ATM card got trapped at the bank’s Automated Teller Machine after a failed transaction at the Challenge, Ibadan branch and the aforementioned suspect, a Banker at the branch, was approached for assistance at the Banking Hall.

“The suspect, one Adeyemi Tosin ‘m’ age 36yrs, after acquiring the details of his unsuspecting victim, then proceeded to open a virtual account with another bank where the victim’s money was lodged with the intention of gradual withdrawals at a later period.

“While comprehensive investigations are still in progress to crackdown the criminal network and other accomplices, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko fdc, enjoins the good people of the state to partner with the Police in terms of sharing credible and timely information valuable in curbing criminality and birthing a peaceful Oyo state.”
