Oyo Police Nab, Parade 23 Year Old Serial Burglar Two Sets Of 32inch Samsung Tv In Ibadan

 

 

 

The Oyo state Police Command has said that as part of its concerted efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality, it has apprehended a 23 year old serial burglar, Bankole Mustapha, who was paraded at the command headquarters in Eleyele today.

A press statement by the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko and made available to Sunrisebulletin by the State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police, SP Adewale Osifeso on April 25 indicates that Special Police Operatives condenamed Eagle-eye swung into action after it got an intel on the suspect’s criminal activities on Sunday (yesterday).

According to the police statement, Special Operatives attached to Bodija-Housing Divisional Police Headquarters while on intelligence led surveillance around Bodija-Sango axis of Ibadan North Local Government area on Monday (today) around 0100hrs apprehended one Bankole Mustapha ‘m’ age 23years, a serial burglar specialized in stealing from hotels and other recreational facilities.

The Oyo state Police statement added that its preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect approached the Hotel’s receptionist during the late hours of Sunday (yesterday) under the guise of being a lodger.

The suspect was said to have successfully hatched his plans having devised sinister means of executing his criminal act of removing valuables which include 32 Inches Samsung Television in his room and another unbranded 32 Inches flat screen Television at the reception when no one was within sight after demanding a room at close proximity with the Hotel’s exit point.

Items recovered from the suspect by the police are valued at about #120,000 (One hundred and twenty thousand naira only). The suspect who has been taken into custody has since confessed to committing the crime upon interrogation.

The statement reads, “In a concerted effort to rid Oyo State off Unscrupulous and undesirable criminally motivated individuals, Eagled-eye operatives of the Command and attached to Bodija-Housing Divisional Police Headquarters while on intelligence led surveillance activities around Bodija/Sango axis of Ibadan North Local Government Area on Monday 25/04/2022 around 0100hrs apprehended one Bankole Mustapha ‘m’ age 23years, a serial burglar specialized in stealing from hotels and other recreational facilities.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect approached the Hotel’s receptionist during the late hours of Sunday under the guise of being a lodger having devised sinister means of executing his plan of removing valuables from the hotel by demanding a room in proximity with the Hotel’s exit point.

“In furtherance to his actions, at about 0100hrs he removed and carted away the 32 Inches Samsung Television in his room and another unbranded 32 Inches flat screen Television at the reception when no one was within sight.

“He has since been arrested with the items valued at about #120,000 (One hundred and twenty thousand naira only) and has confessed to committing the crime.

“Efforts are in top gear to crackdown the rest of his criminal network. More updates regarding the investigation would be provided accordingly, please.”
