Oyo Injects Funds Into Security As Police Deploy Detectives To Akinyele LGA Over Spate of Ritual killings

The Oyo state government said it has injected a lot of funds into the security infrastructure of the state in a bid to curb crime and criminality in the state.
The Special Adviser on security to the Oyo State Governor,Mr. Fatai Owoseni disclosed this on Tuesday while responding to questions on the state of security in Oyo especially recent murder cases in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
Owoseni disclosed that all hands are already on deck to reducing crime to the barest in the state with the claim that Akinyele Local Government has already been crime mapped.
The SA security further disclosed that all the entry and exit points in Akinyele Local Government area would be closely monitored, noting that detectives have been deployed to the local government and its environs and the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be brought to book in due course.
He added that the newly commissioned security command center and the Oyo State Crime Alert Platform in connection with the expanded and refurbished Oyo State Security Control Room would be engaged in fighting crime in Akinyele and in Oyo state at large.
It would be recalled that the recent murder cases in the Akinyele Area of Oyo state have got to four within 22 days.
The first case was an 18-year-old Barakat Bello, the second was Azeezat Somuyiwa, a pregnant woman who was killed on June 5 in the same local government and the third was a student of Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, name Grace Oshiagwu, who was reportedly raped to death at her parent’s residence in Idi Ori Sasa, Ojoo, Ibadan, and the forth was the five-year-old boy, Mojeeb Tirimisiyu, reportedly hacked to death at Moniya, Ibadan.
