Oyo House of Assembly Commends Governor Makinde’s Giant Stride To Review Case of Wrongfully Dismissed Civil Servants By Ajimobi

The Oyo state house of Assembly has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his giant stride and decision to review cases of Civil Servants wrongfully dismissed from service by Sen. Abiola Ajimobi led administration from 2011 till date.

 

The House at its plenary on Tuesday gave the commendation while deliberating on a motion brought before it by the majority leader of the house,Hon Sanjo Adedoyin (Ogbomoso South LG).

 

Members particularly lauded the state Government for approving the constitution of a twelve man committee to look into the case of the affected workers with a view to making appropriate recommendations to Governor Seyi Makinde.

 

The governor urged members of the committee to handle the assignment with all sense of responsibility and fairness in the interest of the affected persons.

 

The house therefore, appealed to the committee to beam its searchlight on the present civil servants in the state with a view to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in all ministries.

 

The Speaker,Oyo State  House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin stressed the need for the committee to avoid any form of witch hunt against anybody.

 

The mover of the motion, Hon Adedoyin, recalled the sacking of some members of staffs of BCOS ,Vehicle Inspection Department, VIO,Ministry of Works and Transport, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH),Ogbomoso among others within the said period.

 

The Deputy Speaker,Hon Abiodun Fadeyi noted that some of the workers were laid off because of their political party supports during elections.

 

However, the Minority Leader, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape called for caution saying that some civil servants got employed with fake results and credentials. He stressed that some civil servants working at various ministries even at high ranking offices do so with fake results, he however applauded and support the move by the governor noting that the review when completed will redress the case of the wrongfully dismissed workers in the state.

 

The plenary also urged the Executive arm of Government through the Oyo state Ministry of Environment and Water Resources and Waste Management Authority, to set machinery in motion for the review of Environmental management laws in a way that will promote healthy living in the state.

 

While deliberating on the motion jointly sponsored by Hon. Hakeem Adedibu (Iwajowa),Hon. Ayotunde Fatokun (Akinyele 1), and Hon Akeem Obadara (Ib. North West) , the house urged the state Government to ensure the clearing of wastes from Amosun village ,Akinyele LG dump site and others alike.
