Oyo Govt Begins E-Governance As Makinde Set To Commission 1000 Units Of New Computers

The Oyo state government under the leadership of governor Seyi Makinde has procured no fewer than 1000 (one thousand) units of brand new computers for ministries, departments, and agencies of the state government in its drive to enhance efficiency at workplace.

Speaking exclusively with sunrisebulletin.com on Wednesday, the Special Assistant to governor Seyi Makinde on Information Communication Technology (ICT) Mr Bayo Akande, stated that the Oyo state government has taken delivery of 1000 units of computers ready to be commissioned by governor Seyi Makinde on Thursday 17th December, 2020 at the state Secretariat.

Mr Akande noted that all necessary internet infrastructures within the secretariat to enable easy and fast internet services have been installed.

He explained that the Oyo state government has already launched its official website for all government activities including collection of workers data, recruitments, payments of salaries, payment of gratuities, tracking of workers files, history, and all sorts of operations of government in the state.

Sunrisebulletin.com recalls that the state government commenced recruitment of teaching and non teaching staffs into the state Teaching service commission (TESCOM) via online registration process bringing to an end days of long cues to obtain and submit government documents.

It is noteworthy, that all the recruitments the present administration has done since its inception in 2019 has been via online platforms thereby reducing wastage, creating equal playing ground for all regardless of affiliations with people in government to influence recruitment exercises, and as well reduce risks of inadequacies usually associated with analogous processes.

Mr Akande expressed optimism in governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to combat corruption in the state using systematic approach while reducing wastage and improving on workers productivity.

The governor’s aide stressed the importance and need for all workers in the state to continue to support and cooperate with governor Makinde in his efforts to transform Oyo state into a true 21st century government with full ICT compliance.
