Following the announcement of commissioners list which was sent to the Oyo House of Assembly by Governor Seyi Makinde and was read out during its Thursday plenary, mixed reactions from ADC camp have continued to  trail the list of nominees read by the house.

Prior to the 2019 guber election, PDP, ADC, ZLP and SDP formed a coalition which led to the adoption of Governor Seyi Makinde as the sole candidate that represented all the coalition parties at the 2019  governorship election. It is believed that certain agreements was reached before the emergence of the coalition, parts of which included consession of commissionership   slots to member parties to the coalition.

However some ADC party faithfuls who do not want their names mentioned spoke with Sunrise Bulletin correspondent on their views concerning the list.

While some of those that spoke opined that the governor through the names on the list may be building his own political structure across the state ahead of future elections, some others were of the view that Senator Olufemi Lanlehin’s camp was not captured in the list.

Sunrise Bulletin contacted Sen. Lanlehin’s aid to comment on this development but our request for comment was declined.

When our correspondent contacted the Special Adviser to the executive governor on legislative matters who was also a former majority leader of the Oyo House of Assembly,  Hon. Samuel Adejumobi (a.k.a. Agbarapo) for comments, he said the governor is a gentleman to the core who places high premium on his words on any occasssion. He stated further that governor Makinde has shown total commitment to the coalition pact by adequately representing each parties of the coalition in the list.

He said “I believe that if we all have to be sincere then we must give kudos to governor Makinde for showing total commitment to the coalition pact.”

“If you look at the list you will see that it fully represents the entire 14 federal constituencies in Oyo state which give balance and equity to all the zones in the state.”

“Senator Ladoja as the leaderof ZLP, gave their slot to a Barrister, ADC gave their slot to Mr. Wasiu Olatubosun, whatever internal wrangling they have within their party in fielding candidates for their slots is not our concern, that is their own party affairs but on the part of the governor, he has fulfilled his part of the agreement.”

The S.A however stressed that, there is no need for such concerns, as there are so many other offices that governor Makinde will soon make appointments for such as, Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Board members etc.”

He assured that governor Makinde will not renege on his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises to improve the quality of life of everyone in the state.
