Oyo Assembly PDP Whip, AKT Congratulates Governor Makinde On His Supreme Court Victory, Says It’s Victory For Democracy

The Oyo state house of assembly Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Whip, Honorable Olajide Akintunde popularly called AKT, has sent a heartfelt congratulations to the executive governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde over his election victory at the supreme court of Nigeria on Tuesday.

The lawmaker stated that the legal tussle by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, chief Bayo Adelabu was a needless distraction aimed at making a “I am still alive” statement adding that the whole exercise was unnecessary even though it was the right of the opposition to carry out.

The chairman, house committee on commerce and cooperatives, stated further that the supreme court verdict was a testimony of the people’s Will and a victory for democracy in Oyo state noting that Mankind’s victory was too resounding to be contested as the first of its kind in the history of governorship election in the state.

He however enjoined everyone regardless of party affiliations to join hands with the present administration in its giant strides to properly reposition Oyo state for economic prosperity adding that politics is over in the meantime and all hands must be on deck in the interest of the people of Oyo state, and Oyo state at large.
