As the crises rocking the Africa Democratic Congress ADC, in Oyo state heats up, a notable political chieftain Chief Titilade Awakan a former house of assembly member in the second republic and a close political associate of chief Michael Koleosho has disassociated himself from the purported state Congress held in ADC by the Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Michael Koleosho faction, remarking that it is illegal,unconstitutional and he will have nothing whatsoever to do with it.
Awakan who is a respectable politician from Oke Ogun made this known In a telephone interview with Sunrisebulletin.com, he noted that none of the elders in Oke Ogun, particularly those of them in the Koleosho camp were consulted before the supposed state congress was held, stressing that what birthed the now infamous Congress was only known to Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Michael Koleosho.
The second republic politician observed that “I align myself with the demands of the Unity forum whose primary objective is to seek a fair, equitable and just party, traits which the Ladoja and kolesho faction has so brazenly shown disdain for through the promotion of impunity, imposition and illegality with total disregard for the rule of law, as exemplified by the illegal primaries recently conducted by the group”.
Awakan who is a prominent voice in Chief Koleosho’s camp from Okaka, in Itesiwaju local government area of Oyo state, emphasised to Sunrisebulletin.com that he completely aligns with the demands of the Unity forum.
It will be recalled that Sunrisebulletin.com also reported that Barrister Bayo Lawal a former attorney general and commissioner for justice in Oyo state and a known supporter of Senator Rashidi Ladoja also expressed his opinion on the purported Congress describing it as illegal.
The Unity forum who is in majority has given 72 hours ultimatum, to the National Working committee of ADC to review the the state congress primariee, failing to do so, the group may seek alternative avenues to actualize their political aspirations.
