The Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III) wishes to rejoice with Nigerians, especially the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas celebration. This was contained in a media statement, signed by Ayodeji Owolabi, chief press Secretary to his majesty. According to the statement the royal father, urged the people to remember the reason for the season, which is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, and charged them not to forget in their different ways, to take time to demonstrate giving, which he believed is the true spirit of the season.
The monarch said we should embrace those who are alone, those who are homeless, and less privileged, contributing our time and resources so that they, too, may feel blessed and encouraged to face the year ahead in a positive spirit.
He said this is the time to thank Almighty God for the successes He has enabled us to achieve as a nation as we trust him for more prosperous years ahead. According to him, this season is a time when we should come together as one nation, irrespective of our cultural, religion or ethnic backgrounds, and strengthens the ties that bind us.
Oba Agbede said this is another opportunity for us to demonstrate continuously the spirit of love, peace, unity and harmony. He also encouraged us as Nigerians, to continue in the spirit of togetherness, which he believes will bring peace and engender unhindered progress, growth and development of our country, Nigeria.
