The Special Adviser to the executive governor of Oyo state on legislative matters, honorable Adejumobi Samuel Ademola popularly called Agbarapo has stated that there would be no further delay in constituting caretaker chairmen across the 33 local government council areas in the state as the executive governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has met with the leadership of the Oyo state house of assembly on the matter and all related issues to the caretaker chairmen have been resolved adding that governor Makinde has made a promise to the effect that caretaker chairmen will be in place before Christmas so that people at the grassroot could begin to enjoy more access to good governance across the state.
The former majority leader of the Oyo assembly made the remarks while having a chat with Sunrise Bulletin correspondent in his office today at the state secretariat, Ibadan noting that all is now set for the chairmen to be constituted as the bottlenecks hampering constituting the caretaker chairmen have been removed.
Agbarapo as he is fondly called attributed the delay in putting the caretaker chairmen in place till date to some germane factors which included national party assignment, litigation, and most importantly his desire to allow party leaders choose suitable persons for the job to avoid imposition on the people which the last administration was reputable for in its entire eight years in power.
The Oke-ogun born politician stated that governor Makinde has totally changed the general narrative in government especially with the way he is daily creating easy access to good governance in the state through transparency and accountability adding that governor Makinde being who he is as a very plain, genuine, and a gentleman to the core will not say things to score political point, and he has made it clear for everyone holding various offices that public office is a call to serve the people not for personal aggrandizement.
He added that year 2020 will be a more busy year for everyone in holding public offices as the governor intends to assent the budget immediately it is passed and commence implementation by January 2020 in order to adequately address the yearnings of the people adding that the governor realized the pains and hardship people in the state have had to endure in the hands of APC led administration under former governor Ajimobi for eight uninterrupted years, and as such would not take any chances to delay implementation of the budget which he described as budget of the masses for the masses.
