The Oyo state house of assembly All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus commiserate with the executive governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde over his COVID-19 test result which returned positive on Monday.
Leader of the minority caucus, Hon Ashimiyu Alarape, in a statement made available to Sunrise Bulletin on Tuesday (today), the lawmaker urged all citizens and residents of Oyo state to set all forms of differences (political, ideological, and philosophical) aside and rally maximum support for the governor’s speedy recovery especially during this challenging time for the first family.
The former Speaker of the state house of assembly also stressed that political parties are mere vehicle to attain political offices noting that governor Makinde is the governor of Oyo state regardless of what party anybody belongs.
The versatile lawmaker added that the APC Caucus of the house received with shock the revelation of governor Makinde’s COVID-19 result but expressed optimism in the fighting spirit of the governor against all odds to surmount the virus and come back stronger and healthier.
“Your Excellency, on behalf of the Minority members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, i wish you very quick and sound recovery.
“We are confident that you will lead us through this trying period and beyond because the Lord is your strength.”
He however assured that the minority members of the Oyo State House of Assembly will continue to support the state government under the leadership of governor Makinde through effective legislation and oversight in a bid to help the governor achieve his economic agenda for the state.
