Just In: Oyo APC Synonymous To Terror, Hunger, And Deception, Apologise To Oyo State Now —Oyo PDP Fires
By Henry Odeh
The Oyo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as name that can be used in place of terror, oppression, hunger, and deception calling the APC period of administration in the state between 2011-2019 as memory everyone is trying to erase in order to remain calm in the face of sheer audacity by the APC instead of apologising to the people of Oyo state who are still trying to heal up from the emotional and psychological trauma APC government plunged the state into in the last eight years.
This statement were made as a response to the lingering arguments about the 8bn naira Iwo Road interchange project proposed by governor Seyi Makinde last week which the governor described as key to his economic plans.
Recall that the Oyo state chapter of APC has shortly after governor Makinde made the proposed project public last week castigated the move, describing it as lacking in originality by liking the project to Rivers state prototype. The opposition party has continued to cast aspersions on everything and every move made by the governor whose leadership style has been described by many political and economic analysts from across Nigeria as a template for good governance leading many to calling the Makinde face of new political leadership in Nigeria.
Engr Akeem Olatunji, Oyo state publicity secretary of the PDP in reaction to another comments credited to the opposition party yesterday where APC described governor Makinde as been too ambitious by wasting Oyo state resources like father Christmas in his quest to increase his political base as well as experimenting with his policies and programs, has chided the comment by describing APC as a bad losers still licking its wound. The PDP spokesman stated that if the party decides to expose all APC atrocities in the last eight years it may lead to the people stoning them anywhere they gather.
The ruling party wondered where APC derived its moral standing to utter a word of aspersion on the excellent performances of governor Makinde who has been able to achieve within his first 100 days in office what APC could not achieve for their entire eight years of misrule, he called on the opposition party to as a matter of urgency tender and unreserved apology to the people of the state.
Engr. Olatunji enjoined Oyo APC under former governor Ajimobi to come out clean and account for how it spent Oyo state funds during its administration adding that the party will in due time officially file a petition to the EFCC and ICPC with details of how the APC deliberately plunged Oyo state into a debt of over 150bn naira with absolutely nothing to show for it.
“APC is not a party to be taken seriously by anybody, their accusation of Makinde using Rivers construction prototype in Oyo state is laughable, they need not be reminded that Seyi Makinde is a world class engineer with a global brand, as far as the masses are satisfied and happy with PDP administration under governor Makinde, anything APC says is inconsequential because the growing political reputation of Makinde has taken their peace away from them.”
He added “As a ruling party we have done a thorough home work on how to bring lasting solution to the many APC imposed sufferings on the people that is why it was action from day one because we are focused and committed to right all the wrongs meted out to the good people of Oyo in the last eight years so we will not concern ourselves with a dead party striving to survive by giving them undeserved attention.
APC is a party that was buried by the people themselves at the 2019 polls after experiencing the magnitude of untold hardship meted out to them by the oppressive administration of APC between 2011 and 2019. We as a party really wants to alleviate the sufferings of the people and restore the sense of pride to every man and woman boys and girls to live and enjoy the Oyo state of their dream under the able leadership of our God sent man, governor Seyi Makinde.
We advise Oyo APC to bury their heads in shame and stop the feeling of a bad loser by tendering an unreserved apology to the good people of Oyo state, and if they don’t they should note that we have details of all the atrocities they committed and in due time we will make same known to the EFCC and ICPC with a view of helping the state recover the stolen loots.”
The party however enjoined everyone to continue to give their full support to governor Seyi Makinde in his quest to achieve his economic plan.
