The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate at the 2019 governorship election, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has on Wednesday paid what was described as surprise visit to one of the chieftains of the ruling party in Oyo state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan at his Bashorun residence in Ibadan.
The former CBN Deputy Governor, recently held a media parley at his Iyaganku western hotel has continued to reach out to political leaders across the state as part of his consultation towards what many described as preparation for 2023.
The APC governorship candidate hopeful had not hidden his passion and desire to dislodge the incumbent governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde come 2023.
Penkelemes as he is popularly called has also publicly shown his love and admirations for Alhaji Olopoeyan, an opposition leader of PDP extraction in Oyo state.
Sunrisebulletin.com gathered that chief Bayo Adelabu had once described Alhaji Olopoeyan as ‘Light’ which every individual needs for a walk.
The meeting of Adelabu and Bisi Olopoeyan is coming 2 weeks after Adelabu 50th birthday and this has birthed mixed feelings among some members of the ruling party in the state.
Some of the Oyo PDP members who spoke to Sunrisebulletin.com on condition of anonymity described the visit as ‘normal but surprising’ stressing that the development calls for serious concern.
They averred that Adelabu has continued to criticize the Makinde led PDP government, wondering why the APC chieftain would visit it’s members adding that such move could not be unconnected with preparations towards 2023 general elections.
