JUST IN: I Was Ruled Out Of First 20 Potential Governors But Your Prayers And Supports Made Me Governor Today — Makinde
By Henry Odeh
The executive governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde has attributed his electoral success to the relentless prayer commitments from servants of God across the state as well as their supports as spiritual leaders that made it possible for him to become the governor of the state today.
The governor made this statement while making a brief remark at the government house chapel on Monday shortly after an intercessory prayers by government house chapel at a one day Special Prayer And Interactive Session With Clerics By His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde.
Bishop Joseph Akinfenwa while delivering his sermon noted that Oyo state is blessed in governor Makinde adding that the state had never had it this good as the physical transformation in the state has made the state a centre of attraction in Nigeria.
Governor Makinde stated further that an acclaimed political bigwig in Oyo state once said that if considerations were to be given to prospective governors in Oyo state that he wouldn’t make first 20 (twenty), adding that it was prayers that enthroned light over darkness, wondering how some privileged few in power derive pleasure in inflicting troubles on the people.
He however assured that his administration will not waver in its commitment and determination to lead the state into economic prosperity where everyone would be proud of the state.
