……commends Makinde for massive road rehabilitation in Lagelu local government.
The lawmaker representing Lagelu state constituency at the Oyo state house of assembly, Honourable Akintunde Olajide popularly called AKT has received the most outstanding lawmaker award from a Nigerian-American Organization.
The international Non Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Nigerian-American Group For Democratic Support (NAGDS) with its international head offices in both the United States of America and Nigeria, explained that the organization has keenly followed activities of the 9th assembly since its inauguration found Hon Akintunde Olajide most outstanding.
The group led by its Oyo state Director of Media and Publicity Mr. Oyeyinka Omole, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Hon Akintunde’s office last weekend, noted the visit was part of its efforts towards ensuring strong synergy and promotion of good governance among political office holders.
Speaking after receiving the award, Hon Akintunde expressed profound gratitude to the group and noted that such honour will only spur him to do more and be more committed to the development of his constituency and the state at large.
He added that NAGDS is an organization of international repute stressing that more organizations like NAGDS are needed in transforming the Nigerian political narrative from what it is perceived to be as ‘dirty’ to what it should be.
Hon Akintunde noted that the 9th assembly has continued to work as a team regardless of political party affiliations and will continue to carry on with its legislative assignment as a united house.
The lawmaker who also doubles as the chairman, house committee on commerce and cooperatives and Oyo assembly PDP Whip said that the young energy brought into the house created the vibrancy and has helped the 9th assembly achieve the recorded success within a short period of time.
Earlier, Hon Akintunde has commended governor Seyi Makinde and the executive chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Maintenance Agency (OYRTMA), Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, for the road rehabilitation at his constituency particularly along General Gas to Iyana church, Iwo Road to Iyana Ejioku, and Iyana Offa which he described as massive.
He however, dedicated the award to members of his constituency which he described as very supportive and understanding, stressing that he will continue to use his office to attract physical developments to his constituency.
