Just In: Family Of Slain UI Undergraduate Student At Oluyole Factory Suspects Foul Play, Demands CCTV Footage

Family of 21 years old University of Ibadan undergraduate, Richard Gbadebo, who died while working in an Oluyole soap factory has expressed suspicion demanded for the CCTV footage and thorough investigation to establish the true cause of his death.

The father of the late Richard, Mr Shola Gbadebo made this disclosure today when Oyo state government delegation paid the family a condolence visit in Ibadan

Mr Gbadebo insisted that before any attempt to initiate talks with the family by management of the soap factory, the family of Richard must be assured that there was no foul play or conspiracy in his death

The father of the deceased expressed grief over the demise of his son, noting that he had endured harsh economic realities just to ensure the late Richard and his elder sister concluded their University education before the unfortunate incidence.

Speaking on behalf of the state government, Permanent Secretary, ministry of environment and natural resources Dr Bashir Olanrewaju said the state government has begun a safety audit of the factory and would ensure that necessary sanctions would be meted on the company and compensation for the bereaved family

The Permanent Secretary also emphasized that irrespective of individual status, the current administration remain committed to ensuring that no resident in the state suffers injustice or undue exploitation.
