The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Seyi Makinde has said he won’t scrap the present Local Government Development council ( LCDA’S) created by the incumbent governor Isiaka Ajimobi, when he assumes office as governor of Oyo state but rather fund it, so they can meet their primary responsibilities. He said this Today at the palace of Asigangan of Igana Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoye where he also met other traditional rulers in Ibarapa North.
Speaking further he said people should not pay attention to the rumor that he will scrap the LCDA’s remarking that he has always supported the formation of the development councils, as demonstrated by his donating a building to Isiokan LCDA in Ajia. Makinde assured the traditional rulers that his administration will ensure that traditional rulers are accorded their due privileges.
He noted that though Maintaining the LCDA will be challenging, however his government’s plan to expand the state economic base will make running the LCDA possible.
Among those on the PDP campaign team to Ibarapa north and central included Engr. Raufu Aderemi Olaniyan the party’s deputy governorship, Omini wife of the governorship candidate, Alhaji Kumi Mustapha, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Senator Hosiah Agboola, Chief Adewale Alatise, Chief Jacob Adetoro.
others are Adekola Adeoye Oyo state PDP Youth leader, Dr. Muhammed Kola Balogun,PDP Oyo south senatorial candidate, Hon. Ajibola Muriano PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa North and Central, and Ojedokun Peter Gbadegesin PDP candidate for state assembly Ibarapa North and Central.
The PDP campaign train was also at Igangan, Ayete, Idere and Igboora.
