I will Not Probe Past Administration When I Assume Office: Seyi Makinde
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has said that he will not probe past government in the state
He said this today at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Jobele in a meeting with representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN).
“I will not spend my time probing the last government, I don’t have that, “. Makinde remarked.
Speaking further, the PDP governorship candidate also reiterated his intention to discontinue the 3000 naira the state government collects from pupils at the moment, starting from 29th May, when he assumes office.
On security Makinde said “My own ideal of security is when the rich and the poor can both go to bed and sleep well but the situation we have now is that both cannot sleep”
He stressed that ” To deal with security is not about placing camera at three places in Ibadan to deal with security, you have to deal with the economy and get our economy to work”.
Furthermore he noted that “Our youth must be able to contribute, they are wishing to contribute to economy but the opportunity doesn’t just exist, we have to put them to work , when I look at them , I don’t see individuals; but what I see are potentials that are locked in.” which we need to unlocked an then unleash into the economy and society will start moving again.
He also said the security architecture in the state will be reviewed, however he noted that “We will review it and I don’t want to jump ahead of the people that will do the project”.
