The French ambassador to Nigeria , Mr. Pasquier Jerome has disclosed that France is willing and ready to develop a robust relationship areas that will benefit and bring development to Oyo State and the country at large .
Mr Jerome made this known today while speaking to newsmen after a brief meeting with the Oyo State Governor Elect Engineer Seyi Makinde and his deputy Engr. Raufu Aderemi Olaniyan today in Ibadan.
The ambassador noted that they tend to build a productive relationship with Nigeria in different fields, including political , economy , sport , cultural and education.
“ I am very happy to have met with the Governor elect , we are looking forward to developing more French presence in Ibadan,Oyo State , we want to develop French relation with Nigeria in different fields, political , economy , sport , cultural, education and all type of activities.
We have so many French companies who are willing to do business here in Nigeria and the state at large we discussed the question of renewable energy , agriculture and agro businesses, he said the state has arable lands”
The Governor elect , engineer Seyi Makinde in his remarks, commended the French ambassador for the visit, he disclosed that the state will cooperate with the programs and businesses coming out from France for maximum development,
”If at this level , we already have the French ambassador here , they don’t have a lot of time to play around , you must know it must be something very serious , so we are hopeful that Oyo State will cooperate with the programs and businesses coming out from France to execute some of our programs “
Makinde emphasized that his administration is determined to focus mainly in four areas which include the economy , education sector , health and security hence a collaborative relationship in these areas from the French government would be appreciated and welcome.
