By Henry Odeh
The minority leader of Oyo state house of Assembly, Rt Honourable Ashimiyu Alarape, has lamented that the death of late Senator Buruji Kashamu got to him as a very rude shock declaring that the late lawmaker still had a lot to offer his state and Nigeria as a whole before his painful demise.
Speaking exclusively with Sunrisebulletin.com in his office on Tuesday over the death of senator Kashamu, the former Oyo Assembly Speaker, described the late senator as an unparalleled philanthropist and complete gentleman regardless of what anybody says.
The baba ewe (father of the youths) of the 9th assembly as he is nicknamed by some of his colleagues, stated that late Kashamu was his benefactor who stood by him while growing politically.
He said that the people of Ijebu-igbo Kashamu’s hometown, Ogun state, and Nigeria at large will sorely miss him because of his style of politics and extension of benefits to all who came across him when he was alive.
He noted that even though many who didn’t have the privilege of having a one on one encounter with late Senator Kashamu while he was alive had formed erroneous impression of him based on how his political rivals portrayed him in the media, stressing that it does not change the fact that he was a good and great man who impacted many lives positively irrespective of what anybody says or have said.
Hon Alarape described his relationship with late Senator Kashamu as very robust, cordial and smooth adding that he was very supportive while he (Hon Alarape) was trying to move up in life politically stressing that Senator Buruji Kashamu will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and political associates.
