Performing States For 2018 Hajj Operations
Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai and his Kogi State counterpart Alh Yahaya Bello have lent their voices to extol the leadership qualities of the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District and the leader of Unity Forum, a block within the Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC ), Alhaja Monsurat Sunmonu describing her as a primus inter pares, selfless and a leader per excellence who has contributed immensely to the service of human kind.
This was contained in their separate goodwill messages delivered on their behalf at the investiture of Sen Monsurat Sumonu and Hon Nnena, the Chairperson, House Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives as well as organizations who have contributed to the successful hajj operation in Nigeria since 2015 at the event organized by the Independent Hajj Reporters in conjunction with the National Hajj Commission. (NAHCON).
While delivering his message the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam El Rufai through his Director of Pilgrimage and Special Services, Alh Sanni Elhaji described Sunmonu as a ‘ wonderful woman who has contributed Immensely by assisting the Chairman National Hajj Commission in reforming Hajj operation in Nigeria as well as her personal efforts to negotiate for better services both at home, Nigeria and with the Saudi government, in fact,Senator Sunmonu is a woman of substance, he concluded.
Governor Bello in his remarks through Sheik Luqman Imam Abdullah, the Chairman Kogi State Hajj Commission defined her as a humility personified public figure who is ready to go extra mile to better the lots of human kind most especially Muslem pilgrims.
” I have worked closely with her as the Chairman of Kogi State Hajj Commission since 2015 and the woman has succeeded in putting true reformation to Hajj operation services in Nigeria, he posited.
The Guest lecturer at the occasion, Ustaz Abubakar Sadiq admonished the Hajj Commission to continue improving on service delivery and be well guided by the fear of Almighty Allah.
He further advised the commission to embrace on new technology by creating software to aid in service delivery.
The highlights of event included the presentation of Award of Excellence to Kaduna and Kogi States as most performing states in 2018 Hajj Operation as well as individuals and independent travel agencies who excelled in various categories.
Among dignitaries who accompanied Sen Sumonu to Abuja for the investiture included:the former Minority leader at the seventh assembly, Hon Adekunle Tunji Rafiu, the Secretary of the unity forum, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Alh Nureni and Muideen Sumonu ,as well as some party women leaders.
