The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency at the green chamber of the National Assembly, Honorable Yemi Taiwo, has again brought happiness to the people of his federal constituency through distribution of relief materials, hand sanitizer, and protective kits worth millions of naira.
Hon Taiwo who stated that the gesture was part of his commitment to the welfare of his federal constituency particularly during the present lockdown as a result of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Hon Taiwo added that it was imperative for everyone to strictly adhere to all guidelines and apply precautionary measures to curb spread of the dreaded virus as a people noting that the relief material would help them remain at home while Oyo state government and its COVID-19 Taskforce under the leadership of governor Seyi Makinde continue to keep the state safe.
He said: “As it is already a common knowledge that COVID-19 is threatening our collective existence with regards to nobody irrespective of social strata, race, gender, or age differences.
“Though as legislators, we have made our contributions to the National Coffers but still, I cannot do without reaching out to my people at my federal constituency which is why we are providing this palliative to help our people go through this tough period with much ease.
“I definitely aligned and feel the pain of my people and this token which is to be distributed among my constituents is to demonstrate my reassurance and solidarity that I care and will still continue to care for them all regardless of the present situation.
“Much appreciation goes to my constituents for their cooperation with the state and federal government’s directives on every instructions given to curb the spread of Coronavirus in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“Let’s continue washing our hands regularly with soap and water, maintain social distancing, stay safe as we all continue in praying to God Almighty to help us out of this pandemic.”
Some of government institutions visited with protective kits and hand sanitizer include General Hospital Lanlate, Lanlate Divisional Police Headquarters, Maya Primary Health Centre, Motor parks in Ido and Apata area of Ibadan.
He however, assured that he would continue to use his office to synergize with the state government in whatever capacity he is required in order to facilitate needed developments to the state.
