BREAKING: Oyo Celebrates As Makinde Set To Resume Office After Second COVID-19 Test Result Confirms Negative

The executive governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has recovered from COVID-19 otherwise called coronavirus after his second test result was confirmed negative by the Nigerian Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), sunrisebulletin.com reports.
The test result was made public in a tweet on the governor’s verified twitter handle on Sunday night.
Following revelation of the test result by the governor himself, Oyo state has been thrown into a frenzy of celebration after breaking the news Sunday night confirming his COVID-19 test result as negative.
Sunrise Bulletin recalled that several professional and religious bodies including Oyo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), AKT Solidarity Group, Oyo State Teachers Congress as well as religious bodies in the state have conducted special prayer and fasting for speedy recovery of their darling governor and other confirmed cases.
It was however, on this backdrop that celebration erupted in the state early Monday after revelation of the confirmed negative result to the dreaded virus hits the public.
The tweet reads: “I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful.
“This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.”
The governor added that he will be resuming tomorrow (Monday) as the head of the task force in the state.
He said: “I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time. I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow.”
