Sunrise Bulletin correspondent has reliably gathered that all is now set for the announcement of the long anticipated local government caretaker chairmen and Administrators of Local Council Development Authority (LCDA’s) in Oyo state, and has assured that the list is now ready for onward transmission to the Oyo state house of assembly for confirmation latest before next week Wednesday.
A reliable source from office of the Oyo state governor who spoke to Sunrise Bulletin correspondent today on condition of anonymity stated that governor Makinde has resolved all lingering issues that has delayed constituting the caretaker chairmen adding that the governor in his wisdom to avoid imposition of candidates on local governments and LCDA’s decided to engage political leaders and members of his political family in series of marathon meetings with a view of entrenching core values of internal democracy through what was described as an inclusive participation in decision making.
Recall that governor Makinde during his presentation of 2020 Budget to the Oyo state house of assembly acknowledged a loud call that permeated the legislative chamber by observers who had thronged into the chamber to witness the event through a smile back.
It is believed that the governor in response to the call and yearnings of the people especially at the local government level in terms of access to good governance had accelerated the process of consultations among all concerned party leaders and stakeholders to arrive at the list.
