Barely 24hrs After Ebonyi Governor Dumps PDP For APC, NWC Dissolves Ebonyi Exco, Southeast Zonal Caretaker

Following the official decampment of Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), after a weeklong threat to the National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Council (NEC) of the party, the national body of the opposition party in Nigeria has dissolved forthwith, the entire excos from ward level, LG, state, and south east zonal levels.
The PDP made this disclosure on Tuesday 17th November, 2020, in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, and made available to newsmen noted that the dissolution takes immediate effect.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from a crucial meeting today (November 17, 2020) and announced the dissolution of the ward, local government and state executive committees of the Ebonyi state chapter of the party forthwith.
“The NWC has also dissolved the Southeast Zonal Caretaker Committee of the party.
“These decisions are pursuant to the powers conferred on the NWC by the PDP Constitution.” The statement reads.
