President Bola Tinubu has asked the senate to confirm the appointment of three non-career ambassadors. Tinubu made the request in a letter addressed to the senate and read on Wednesday by Godswill Akpabio, the senate president. Tinubu said the nominations were made in accordance with section 171 (1), (2)(c) and (4) of the 1999 constitution (as amended). The Oyo State Government is set to restore the glory of cocoa production as one of the state’s major economic pillars. In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the State Executive Council approved the sum of Three Billion, Thirty Million, Two Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy-Two Naira (₦3,030,292,472) for the establishment of Cocoa Rejuvenation Project. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) filed a suit before the federal high court in Abuja seeking to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the national convention held in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, on November 15 and 16.
