Former first lady of Oyo State Chief Mrs Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja in a statement today, has commiserated with the victims, people and government of Oyo State over the unfortunate explosion that claimed lives, injured several people and destroyed properties in Ibadan yesterday. The Federal Court in Abuja has nullified the power of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, to impose a fine on broadcasters in Nigeria. According to a statement on Wednesday by Idowu Adewale, Communications Officer of Media Rights Agenda, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia delivered the judgment in a suit filed by the agency against NBC over the N5 million fine each imposed on Trust Television and three other broadcasters for airing a documentary on banditry in Nigeria. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, says it uncovered no fewer than 83 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta in the last seven days. The NNPCL disclosed this on its X handle on Tuesday. According to the company, it discovered 15 illegal pipeline connections within the same period. “In the past week, 15 illegal pipeline connections and 83 illegal refineries have been uncovered in the Niger Delta. “83 illegal connections were spotted in Rivers, Abia, Imo and Bayelsa states”, the company said.
