APC Thugs Stockpiling Arms To Cause Havoc On Perceived PDP Strongholds On Saturday, Group Alleges.

A group, known as the Greater Oyo Coalition,has raised the alarm on the alleged stockpiling of dangerous weapons by thugs loyal to the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Teslim Folarin, with the intention to intimidate voters and wreak havoc in areas where Gubernatorial results are not going their way, on Saturday.

In a statement signed by Hon Waheed Sulaiman, the group alleged that these thugs, who are headed by a prominent member of the defunct National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW) in the state, had been mandated to ensure that they unleash violence in the state during the elections, if things don’t work according to their plans.

According to them, sources revealed that the thugs had mapped out areas such as Oyo West, Ibadan Southwest, Ibarapa Central and Ibadan North local government areas as places deserving of their attention.

The group therefore called on security agencies in the state not to take this threat lightly. They advised that all necessary precautions be taken to ensure that the intentions of those who seek to disrupt the democratic process are nipped in the bud.

Continuing, Suliaman commended the security forces for their professionalism in the recently- concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state. He urged them not to rest on their oars, in the light of the importance of the governorship elections and the desperation of the All Progressive Congress’ Candidate.

Lastly, the group urged citizens to come out en-mass and vote in a candidate of their choice. They said, “Someone whose antecedents they are sure of, not those who have been pushed forward by belly-first politicians”.
