The halls of Ladoke Akintola University reverberated with applause and jubilation as the institution hosted its annual convocation ceremony, honoring the academic accomplishments of its graduating students. Amidst a backdrop of pride and excitement, the event brought together students, faculty, families, and esteemed guests to commemorate the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.
The convocation ceremony commenced with a procession of faculty members, clad in traditional academic regalia, followed by the graduating students, who marched proudly to the strains of ceremonial music. The air was charged with anticipation as the university’s visitor Engr. Seyi Makinde Executive Governor of Oyo State, ably represented by the commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Professor Soliu Adelabu delivered the visitors address, praising the graduating class for their perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges.
Distinguished guests, including government officials, industry, Political leaders, and alumni, graced the occasion with their presence, offering words of wisdom and encouragement to the graduates.
Highlights of the events included Awards of Postgraduate Diplomas and higher Degrees while it climaxed with the award of two Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Civil law and Technology respectively, to Alhaji Ahmed Adeniyi Raji (SAN), and Engr. Yinka Ayoola Ajao.

Senator Abdulfatai Omotayo Raji, Chairman, Governing Council of LAUTECH, Professor Ayodeji Omole and other members of the Council.
Former Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission – Professor Adeolu Akande, and a former Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Olarewaju Nassar were also there
Royal fathers at the ceremony were Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III.
-Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola, Ayinpapo of Ipapo.
-Olugbon of Orile- Igbon- Oba Francis Olusola Alao, among others.
Other dignitaries included, Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Professor Josiah Ajiboye, Former INEC Commissioner- Alhaji Ahmed Adeniyi Raji (SAN), and Vice-Chancellors as well as Registrars of some noteable Universities
Also at the ceremony were Hon. Shina Abdul Peller, Executive Director at Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) Engr. Lekan Bhadmus.
One by one, the graduating students ascended the stage to receive their diplomas from each moment punctuated by cheers and applause from their proud family members and friends. The atmosphere was electric as names were called, marking the culmination of years of academic pursuit and the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates.

Meanwhile, in an unfortunate development, it was rumoured that a student got killed on campus as the occasion was on going, the Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Lekan Fadeyi, said no such issue happened.
According to him, information from town was that some people got engaged at a night club, far from the University premises, during which one of them got killed.
He added that convocation witnessed by the aforementioned highly respected individuals, would not have held if there was such occurrence.
